Micz Media

Small on purpose.

Micz Media hires young thinkers, artists, video editors and whatever else at an ethical wage. We work as a globally remote workforce operating mainly in UK time. We offer contract-based or full-time work to suit the needs of our creative team, strategists and writers.

We care about judgement and taste rather than degrees. We look for great communicators and listeners. We respect that the most talented people are often just an opportunity away from learning the skill that ignites their career or are waiting for a company to provide an equitable and safe space to allow them to prove themselves.

Right now there are no open roles. When there are, they will be listed here with the salary on them. We keep a tight list of freelancers we trust and go to first. If that should be you, send three pieces of work and the day rate you actually want to michael@micz.co.uk.

FOUNDER

Michael Allen.

A week after my nineteenth birthday, I finished a three-week marketing sprint for Walmart, financed a car, and slept in the back of it.

I heard Walmart needed a hand working on their first-ever Minecraft server with Moonrock and EVNT Games.
Three weeks later, we delivered hundreds of assets across an Amazon Fire banner activation, a Discord quest, and promotional material sent to Walmart stores across the US.

My dad died when I was eleven. I went into foster care. At thirteen, I started freelancing. That led to work with Twitch, Pringles Gaming, and GotMilk/MilkPep before I was old enough to drive. After all this, everything I had accomplished felt like hope that a better life was waiting for me.

The Walmart project didn’t guarantee stability, though. I applied for roughly 150 jobs before I got one interview. I delivered kebabs. I worked across marketing, motion design, and creative production.

All these experiences taught me something marketing courses can’t.

Ideas do not fail because they are not clever enough.

They fail because nobody owns the next step… or because the brief is vague. Projects are over-promised and under-delivered… We could make the list longer, but at the root of it:

In the marketing industry, the presentation matters more than tangible outcomes.

That’s not me. I do not make recommendations to sound intelligent in a room. My team is upfront about what can be done, and delivers exactly that.
That should be the standard. That’s been mine since 13. That’s ours at Micz today.

Freelancers, Contractors & Teammates of Micz Media & DontBinGenZ

Say it sharper & be specific.

Good marketing rarely tells people something new. It takes the problem someone already half-feels and frames it precisely enough that they act. We look for people who can listen with curiosity and who are unafraid of asking a question.

Plan to win.

The best idea is the one your teammates can make brilliant by the deadline. Look after the people doing the work, and the work looks after itself.

Make no excuses.

Young artists at an ethical wage. Salary on every listing. No unpaid tests, no speculative work. Inside the workplace, you never hand over an idea without the ability to defend it. Open the project file live on the call, so the plan and the work never drift apart. If a choice is going to look bad, show, don’t tell.
