Who we are

Micz Media is a creative and communications company founded in Salisbury, Wiltshire, working across the South Coast and the UK. For anything on this page, write to hello@micz.co.uk.

What we collect, and when

Only what you type in. The enquiry form asks for your name, organisation, email, what you need, budget and any notes. The Blank Report download asks for your name, company, company size, your position and your email, plus your consent to marketing email. Nothing else on the site asks for personal information, and we do not buy or scrape contact lists.

Our host records standard server logs, including IP address and browser type, as part of serving the page.

Why we hold it

Enquiry details are used to reply to you and to run the engagement if one starts, on the basis of taking steps at your request before a contract. Marketing email is sent only where you ticked the box, and every message carries an unsubscribe link. We do not sell data, and we do not share it with anyone beyond the suppliers below.

Measurement, and what you agreed to

Nothing that measures you runs until you say yes. The banner on your first visit has three switches, all off unless you turn them on, and rejecting is one click in the same place as accepting. You can change your mind at any time using in the footer. Turning something off stops it and clears the cookies it set.

Site analytics. Which pages you viewed and in what order, what you clicked, how far you scrolled, how long you stayed, how many separate visits you have made, the site or advert that sent you, your browser and screen size, your language, and your approximate location. Location comes from your IP address and resolves to a town or city and its rough coordinates. We do not ask your browser for your precise position, and the site never shows the location permission prompt. We store your IP address only in truncated form, so it identifies a rough area rather than a household. You are recorded against a random identifier stored in your browser, not against your name.

Heatmaps and session replay. Where you moved your mouse and a reconstruction of your visit, which we combine into heatmaps to see what draws attention and where people give up. Anything you type into a form is masked before it leaves your browser, so passwords and message text are never recorded.

Advertising. Tells advertising platforms that an advert led to a visit, and allows us to advertise to people who have been here before. Off unless you switch it on.

Suppliers

The site is hosted on Vercel, which also stores the analytics we collect ourselves. Video and images are delivered by Cloudinary. Fonts are served by Google Fonts. Each of these sees the technical request needed to deliver the page.

Where you have agreed to them, measurement is also carried out by Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity for heatmaps and replay, and advertising platforms including Google Ads and Meta. These are separate companies acting on our instructions, and some process data outside the UK under the standard contractual protections. If you would rather they had nothing, reject them and they never load.

How long, and your rights

Enquiries are kept for two years from your last contact, then deleted. Client records are kept for six years where tax law requires it. Measurement data expires after roughly thirteen months. Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, withdraw your consent to measurement, or object to marketing at any time. Email hello@micz.co.uk and you will have an answer within one business day. If we get it wrong, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
